Water quality
This table gives an overview of water quality in the basin for the 2025 season.
The Ville de Québec analyses and monitors water quality at the Port of Québec harbour bath. The city takes water samples, has them analyzed in the lab and sends out the results as soon as available. The minimum time between sampling and sharing the results is 24 hours.
The result appearing in red above is the last one to have been received and compiled by the Port of Québec Oasis.
As is the norm in the province of Québec, results are based on bacteriological quality, calculated according to the number of fecal coliforms per 100 ml of water, according to a classification system developed by the Ministère de l’Environnement du Québec. Bathing water quality is rated A (excellent), B (good), C (fair) or D (polluted). This is illustrated in the following table.
